Spent some time in the last few days to migrate from Drafts 4 to Drafts 5.
Drafts 5 does bring some awesome improvements over its predecessor:
-
Mac support makes it possible to start something or continue my thoughts anywhere.
-
Workspace allows me to create preset rules to filter my drafts and it’s surprisingly quite a hassle-free way to switch how I use the app.
-
Actions and JavaScript programming gets a good enhancement with more well rounded frameworks.
-
UI is a lot nicer and composed. It finally appears polished in Drafts 5, making it more enjoyable to write in this app. I used to feel the compulsion to finish writing ASAP just because how horrible this app looked.
I’m going through the one week free trial but I’m leaning towards paying the $24.99 per year. Frankly, it’s been a while since I had a scratchpad that I can conjure at any time to write anything on, and I miss it. I don’t have to take a hard brake with my mind and decide the app before putting my thoughts into words. There’s no pressure for any writing to be finished or polished since everything in here is but drafts.
